Co-ordinating an organisational pivot for a rapidly expanding start up business

We designed, built and delivered a successful organisational pivot for a rapidly expanding start up – reducing their client concentration risk and generating new revenue streams.

Challenge

The client had built a strong but concentrated relationship in an area that was declining in demand and needed to lean on other competencies to reduce concentration risk and diversify the business.

They had a strong team of technical staff but were lacking in strategic direction aligned to the needs of the market.

Solution

We redefined their fee structure to increase revenue, established two new capabilities to boost diversification and helped re-brand for expanded market reach.

We introduced new ways of measuring progress for the leadership team, put in place a new business strategy and placed new talent on their board.

Results

Our work changed the go-to-market approach, the pricing strategy and the brand.

This drove dozens of new opportunities and an increase in both revenue and client reach. A set of immediate remedial actions provided the leadership team the right focus ahead of an interim fundraising round.

  1. We helped to create a more aligned and ambitious leadership team, driving towards a shared vision

  2. Dozens of qualified and closed leads in new markets bringing new revenue streams

  3. New service propositions clearly defined externally supporting a differentiated vision and strategy.
