Accelerating deal origination for an established investment firm

We built a model to identify companies with investable qualities and automate our client’s sales outreach process.

Challenge

The company had been through an extraordinary growth period but wanted to position itself strongly for further expansion in the future, particularly in new geographies. Their core business is focused on digital audit software – an area that is facing threat from AI automation. They recognised that better use of AI would be critical to their future success and differentiation.

Solution

Using Machine Leaning and AI, we built a solution to find good investments in a given industry with a population of over 17,000 companies and a varying degree of complexity. The client could then select potential companies and our AI tool would automate the email marketing and outreach to that company based on the information we’d gathered online.

Results

  1. The company were able to speak to dozens of companies for a single investment vs a handful, improving potential ROI

  2. As the investment company refined their criteria, the model became more complex and offered more tailored suggestions

  3. It allowed the company to carry on using their intangible expertise to build deal-craft and a good portfolio vs doing manual repetitive tasks.
